APPLICATION

for European Board of Paediatrics Examination

The first examination will now be held online on October 16th, 2020. The closing date for applications is September 1st, 2020.

Due to the move of the exam to an online platform, we have been able to reduce our prices for the exam in 2020. The new prices are shown below – those applicants who have already paid the full price will be reimbursed accordingly. Please also note a further reduction for trainees in European countries defined by the World Bank as Low or Low-Middle income countries.

Please email us at ebpexam@eapaediatrics.eu for any further information.

If for any reason the exam should be postponed or cancelled, a full refund would be offered to all those who have registered by the closing date.

Please read the exam regulations carefully before submitting the application below.

Please provide a copy of your passport and a photograph of yourself (head and shoulders).  The applicant name must match the  passport name as this will be used as proof of identity for the exam.

  • The examination is intended for trainees who have undertaken core training. It is a knowledge based examination, intended to provide evidence of a trainee’s understanding of the principles and practice of common paediatric conditions.

By itself it does not constitute evidence of completion of core training, but is a knowledge based examination only. It should be complemented by evidence of competency attainment (such as provided by work based assessments), experience (as can be shown by a log book of cases) and a clinical face to face examination. For further details on assessment of training please see the EAP website.

Applicants must be engaged in (or have completed) paediatric training at a recognised training centre*. Before applying, candidates will need to have a letter from their training department, on headed paper, that confirms they are qualified doctors, and are either in a training post or substantive post within that institution. This letter will need to be uploaded during the application.

Please also note that the name submitted must match the applicant’s passport name as this will be used as proof of identity for the exam.
